Soil Nailing

Soil nailing was originally introduced in France in the 1970s. Soil nailing can be used for building excavations or for stabilizing existing slopes that have a history of problems. The influence of geology is critical in the in the design of a soil nail wall. Subsurface investigations and the proper analysis of the information by experienced personnel is of outmost importance. Soil nailing is the combination of soil anchors that are similar to rock anchors that are drilled and grouted into the rock slope. These anchors are used to tie down whatever material you are using to support the soil. Whether it be the Pentafix, Tecco, Shortcrete or other materials used to cover the slope.
