Emergency Rockfall Prevention Work For The National Passenger Railway (AMTRAK)

Janod was originally called into Amtrak after two consecutive rockfalls in the beginning of 2001.

Amtrak decided to take a proactive approach to rock slope stability and hired Janod to stabilize their most critical rock slopes. Amtrak quickly realized that the work that Janod was performing would bring the safety of the rock slopes up to the standard that Amtrak demands on it's railway.

Another benefit of having Janod in to perform the work was that all the work was completed ahead of schedule and below budget. Although Janod stabilized the most critical rock slopes Amtrak is continuing with its proactive approach to categorize the remaining rock slopes and planning their approach to future work if necessary.
