Janod
was originally called in by BSNF (Burlington Northern Santa
Fe Railway) in 1998. We were the third contractor on site
to install rock bolts in the rock structures. The other two
contractors were not successful in installing rock bolts due
to the difficult rock conditions of the rock slopes. Janod
was not only successful in the installation of the rock bolts
but proved to be proficient in all the rock slope stability
needs of the BSNF.
When the
second phase was put out to tender the bids were eventually
thrown out and Janod was retained on a time and material contract
to complete the project. The cost savings to the BSNF were
considerable compared to the tendered prices they had received
for the completion of the project. Janod ended up installing
approximately 30,000 feet of rock bolts on that project.
